It all started when…
My friend and colleague, Koral Dean, called and asked if I was ready to pursue IVF again. It had been a year since our failed cycle and I was slowly putting the pieces of my heart and life back together. I knew God was stirring in my heart to share my story, but I had no idea what that would mean. Fast forward three years later and thousands of people have been encouraged to share their story after being a part of ours.
So to back up, the Give Grace campaign began as a way for my staff to help us pay for IVF again. As a coach’s wife and small business owner, there is no way we could come up with $35,000 out of pocket again. That’s right. No insurance coverage. So my team designed and produced a line of products inspired by our story to sell with 100% of the proceeds going to help us do IVF one more time. We were able to go through the process again fully funded in October of 2016 and have two sweet boys that were born in August 2017. They are the first of hopefully many Give Grace babies. We are in the process of creating a 501C3 so that we will be able to raise money for other families walking this road.
But the movement is so much bigger than a fundraiser. I hope and pray that through continually sharing our story of struggle and hope and God’s faithfulness, that others will be encouraged to do the same. I believe that we weren’t meant to walk through this life alone. Let’s be champions for others, be vulnerable about what we are walking through, support others and fight for each other. By giving grace freely to ourselves and others, we can make waves on this earth that can have an eternal impact.
