Oh magic suit, Oh magic suit.

February 2, 2018

Filed in: Uncategorized

Oh how we love you, magic suit. I have decided that if I could just invent a product that helps babies sleep, we would be rich. Because it wasn’t that long ago, when I was on Amazon at 4AM multiple times a week ordering some new swaddle or sleep product in hopes that it would give me just a few more hours of rest. Yes, desperate, exhausted moms do crazy things.

We have followed Moms on Call since the beginning and I can’t tell you how defeated I felt every time I read the Facebook support group with people sharing their success stories about their 6 and 8 week olds sleeping through the night. I was doing every thing this dang book said to do. And my boys were consistently waking up in the night hungry. At 12 weeks, moms on call recommends to drop the swaddle, but I didn’t think my boys were ready. I wanted them to have access to their hands so that they could learn to self soothe, but felt like they needed a swaddle transition. So that’s when I took the plunge and decided to order the Merlin’s Magic Sleep Suit. I had read so much about it and I was desperate for sleep. It arrived when my boys were about 13 weeks and by 14/15 weeks, they were both sleeping through the night. I am talking 7AM-7PM. It wasn’t an overnight fix, but with consistency of the Moms on call method (we did not do full on cry it out) and the magic suit, we finally turned a HUGE corner. And let me tell you, the gift of sleep was AMAZING.

For naps, my boys wear a short or long sleeve onesie underneath the suit. At night, I usually put them in footed pjs. Either of these options is great or you can put them in the suit with just a diaper. The boys sleep on their backs and alone in their cribs. They now know that the Merlin’s Magic Sleep Suit is part of our nap/bedtime routine so when I put it on them, it means sleep time. I put the suit on, turn their sound machine on, lay them in the crib and walk out. Sometimes they fuss for a minute or two but they have learned to put themselves to sleep. More on this later. But the moral of the story is…. you need this suit! Plus, look how cute and funny they look! It’s worth the $40 just for this picture.

For safe and best sleep results, we recommend babies sleep on their backs and alone in their crib.

Shop the magic suit here.

Shop the Moms on Call book here.

Lots of love,

Megan

Our baby Ella is 8 weeks old and she will give us a 4 hour stretch to start the night and then is up every 1.5 to 2 hours to eat.

Ok. I need to try this. I’m exactly where you were with your boys. My twin girls are 3.5 months. They go to sleep at 7 pm but still wake for feeds at 11 and 3 AM. It also takes me a long time to get them back to sleep after the 3AM feed. There have been nights where I don’t get them back down until 5:30 or 6 and then they’re back up at 7 am. Their dad and I are in desperate need of some sleep. 😴😴😴

10 week old 🙋🏼 He’s trying his best to sleep through the night consistently, and I think this will be the “magic” we need to make it happen!

My sweet baby is 3 months and has been an amazing sleeper until this last week. We are desperate for a solution! I have looked at these several times, so glad to hear they work!

I have four month old twin girls, and I too have been trolling Amazon in the early hours of the morning trying to find a solution for this sleep regression 😴 It’s great to hear that the Magic Suits work, I’ve been wondering if I should take the plunge but with two babies the cost was a little daunting…

My little ones age is 10 weeks & his sleep status is alllllll over the place. We also use he moms on call method & it helped us out greatly in the beginning (6 wks) but it’s like we have plateaued! He sleeps from about 8-1am and that’s it. Sometimes we can’t even get him down for more than 2-3 30 min naps a day. Sleep is needed in this house!!!!

Well baby isn’t here yet but if he/she is anything like their big sister who still wasn’t sleeping through the night at 5 1/2 months, I’m thinking we will need to try this out this go around!!

10 week old baby girl! She still finds it necessary to eat two times at night, leaving this Mama exhausted, but the positive is the cure rolls she’s getting from the extra feedings lol!

Our second son is due Feb 9 and I’m wanting all the tricks and tips for this one!! Our first son is 2.5 and is still not a good sleeper! We need this one to sleep!!!

    February 2nd, 2018 at 3:44 pm

Our little one is Truett, who is almost 8 weeks old! We are using swaddleme velcro swaddles for naps & nighttime. He has almost outgrown them as we often find that he has busted out of it so I’ve been looking for what’s next (sleepsack/sleepsuit/etc). He still isn’t sleeping long stretches at night (4 hours max) so we’re in need of some magic!

Our miracle baby is 16 weeks old & weve been sleeping through the night for awhile but are quickly approaching the dreaded transition to the crib..I’ve tried the CIO method and it breaks this mama’s heart. I’ve heard so many success stories with the magic sleepsuit I’m hoping to try it out!

It would be for my grandson. He is 4 weeks old today. His mommy is breastfeeding but only by pumping bc he doesn’t latch well. She has to pump and bottle feed 3 times a night. She is exhausted. This combined with little help from her spouse is starting to take a toll on her. I think she is doing an awesome job and would love to offer this for help as he gets older. Thanks so much!

I am due in June and a first time mom and already so anxious about sleep 😳. I keep praying this bundle of love will be a good sleeper. Praying we do the right this early on to establish good sleep schedules and praying I can learn to function on minimal sleep. So many changes coming our way and I’ve heard these are amazing.

My little one is almost 3 months and we are getting ready to drop the swaddle (so scary!). We follow Moms on Call and have a few successful 10 hour nights but it is still not quite predictable. I’ve heard the magic suit is amazing!

My girl is nearly six month! She has never been a good day sleeper, gives me 2-3 30 to 45 minute naps. Most nights she’s asleep around 7pm then wakes at 4am to feed then up at 7am. I’m still swaddling her and honestly terrified to unswaddle. Her little arms are always so busy! And I’ve tried just one arms unswaddle but she still wakes herself up. I’ve decided we need help transitioning and this magical suit sounds like a perfect solution!!! Thanks for sharing!

Baby is almost 6.5 months old and has never slept more than 4 hours at a time and that is rare. He’s waking up 2-5 times a night but doesn’t even want to feed he just doesn’t know how to settle during the night.

    February 2nd, 2018 at 4:20 pm

I’m due in August and terrified he or she won’t sleep!! My now 3 year old was the worst sleeper as a baby, so I’m trying to prepare myself as much as possible this time around!

My son is 7 months old and his sleep is all over the place. He refuses to fall asleep without being held and he only manages to sleep through the night maybe once a week. Most nights he’s up once, but sometimes its 3 times in one night. My husband and I both work and we’re exhausted. We would love to give this suit a try.

  32. Haley

    February 2nd, 2018 at 5:06 pm

My little is 4 months and still co-sleeping, she refuses to sleep anyway else accept close to mom and dad in the warmth- she was a preemie so not sure if that’s why she’s spoiled and gets the luxury of sleeping with us( haha) For only 2-3 hours threw the night- so exhausting but she’s worth it of course! I’ve heard so many good things about the sleep suits I’d love to win one to see if this works for my baby like it has for everybody else!

  37. Laura Mundy

    February 2nd, 2018 at 5:21 pm

My baby is 7 weeks old and I also am trying to follow Moms On Call. She had major sleep regression at 6 weeks and breaks out of every swaddle I’ve tried (I’ve tried 5!). She wakes every 2-3 hours to eat throughout the night! I have to go back to work at 10 weeks, so in 3 weeks, and am desperate for some sleep before I start back!!

  38. Annabeth Tate

    February 2nd, 2018 at 5:23 pm

My baby is 11 weeks old and we have very sporadic nights! One night she’ll sleep 10 hours straight and the next night it’ll be 6! We would love a magic sleep suit to make her feel more secure and get her sleep schedule to be more consistent!

    February 2nd, 2018 at 5:28 pm

Our little one is 10 Weeks. We are also following MOC but the most sleep we are getting is 5 hours at night. So, yes at 4 am I’ve also made many Amazon prime purchases. Would love to win the sleep suit

My baby is 7 weeks old and goes down at about midnight and sleeps until 4 and occasionally will sleep until 6. She has outgrown her swaddle so we are in the market for something different! Would love to win this giveaway! ❤️

My little girl is 8 weeks and ONLY sleeps/naps with her swaddle! She is a wiggle worm for sure. In 4 weeks, I will have to start back to work as a nurse in the ER.. I am freaking out about sleep!! She is currently falling asleep around 9, but always wakes up between 2-3 AM! Would love to be able to try out the Magic Suit!!

  43. Katie

    February 2nd, 2018 at 6:13 pm

My daughter just turned 3 months. She is a dream sleeper and has been sleeping through the night since 6 or 7 weeks. I know we need to drop the swaddle but I’m terrified of upsetting our system. I would love to try this magic suit to help the transition!

  44. Amy Rolling

    February 2nd, 2018 at 6:18 pm

My baby is 9 weeks old and only gives us 2-4 hours of sleep at a time during the night- which is a huge increase from what it used to be. But I’m longing for longer periods of rest so I won’t be such a zombie! I’m hoping it’ll get better as he gets older-like people keep saying it will- but I guess we’ll see! I’ve heard great things about the Magic Suit so I’d love to win one and get some more sleep!

    February 2nd, 2018 at 6:23 pm

Me!!! We are 4.5 months old and sleeping through the night with a swaddle (she was six weeks early, so developmentally we are behind), but HATES her crib. She’s outgrowing the swaddle and we need a transition piece. Hopefully it allows us to get her to sleep in the crib through the night.

Oh meeee! My baby boy is 8 weeks and I am desperate for some better night time sleep! Currently swaddling with Ollie swaddle but feel like he is ready to begin to transition out of it! Thinking this may be our “magical” solution 🙌🏼

7.5 months old… he can theoretically sleep through the night (he’s done it’s a few times), but more nights than nkt hes been up every couple of hours and wants to sleep in my arms.

  50. Kate Carter

    February 2nd, 2018 at 7:04 pm

This would be great! My baby is 6 weeks old and has been a decent sleeper at nights. Normally he sleeps 4 hours for his first stretch and then another 3 after a feeding… but the last 2 nights he has slept 6 hours straight! We currently swaddle him and I have a feeling a magic sleep suit will be needed when we go to transition him in the next couple months!

  51. Kirsten

    February 2nd, 2018 at 7:14 pm

Our first baby is due in June so this would be great to have on hand to help the little one (us too) sleep through the night!

    February 2nd, 2018 at 7:23 pm

Oh man, this would be great. I’ve got a 6 (almost 7) week old. We are outgrowing our swaddle and would LOVE to try this out. Currently getting up two or three times in the night for feedings. He’s got a routine down, but would love for him to be able to use his arms to self soothe. He hates having his arms smashed down in his swaddle! Thanks for doing this for us tired mommas!

My sister swears by these sleep suits! And I would love to try one! My baby boy is only 2.5 weeks old, he sleeps for 3 hour blocks right now. I know this is normal for newborns, but I want to be ready for that overnight sleep training when the time comes! Following you and the magic sleeps suit on IG already, hope to win one!

  54. Amberly

    February 2nd, 2018 at 7:28 pm

Please!!! My 3 month old has had 2 nights of sleeping through that were a fluke. She is usually up 2-3 times a night. I never know when she is going to for sure go to sleep and stay asleep. And for naps she will not or cannot unless she is held 🙁

  55. Katie

    February 2nd, 2018 at 7:50 pm

My 3rd baby Hawkins is now 15 months. He has been my worst sleeper. I honestly don’t know what to do. He’ll make some progress and then regress. Teething and then sickness made him regress. And lately I can tell him to lay back down and he will but every time he wakes up it’s like he feels he needs to fuss just loud enough for me to hear and I wake up. I live in Texas so I’m not sure if this sleep suit would be too hot but if I won one I’d definitely give it a try. Enjoy seeing your cute boys pictures and your posts.

18 weeks here! We had a few weeks of great sleep, 8-4… but the 4 month sleep regression is REAL! Also didn’t help that around the same time we stopped swaddling AND moved him out of the Rock N Play. Now, we get up 2-3 times to put the paci back in and once (sometimes twice) to feed. Would love to try the Magic Sleep Suit!

Baby #3 on the way due this June. I’ve had one terrible sleeper and one heavenly sleeper. Life does not slow down AT ALL for this third pregnancy and this babe is going to have to dive in and join the party. I need any and all things to help ensure this baby is a good sleeper. Mama doesn’t have time for another rough one!! It’s on my list of “3rd baby must haves”. Thank you!!

Harry is 4 months old and currently wearing a BORROWED size large Magic sleepsuit. The second we zipped him in it his entire mood changed. He totally just chilled and relaxed. My husband jokes he wants one for himself. Harry sleeps in his sleepsuit in his bassinet by our bed from 10 pm- 4 am MOST nights (not trying to jinx anything). Would love to win my very own for my little man (and if you could stitch up a man size one for hubs- that’d be great too! Lol)

My little guy is 11 weeks old and we started using our Merlin suit we’d received as a gift as soon as he hit 12 lbs. The suit is AMAZING and now he sleeps through the night! Would love to have a “back up suit” for when the other is in the laundry. We use it for every sleep!

    Hello!
My little Elijah is 8 weeks today! He’s a very light sleeper & most times fights his sleep (ending in a very long cry, while I try everything I can to soothe him). This suit would maybe help a lot in giving the baby, myself and my husband more sleep! We are both part-time students in college & have jobs! So the more sleep, the healthier and happily lives!

Thanks for doing a give away! ✨
