The blog life.

Yes, yes I know. As if I have time to add one more thing to my plate. But I have been praying about a place to share more of my journey and connect in a deeper way with women who are walking through the throws of infertility and/or motherhood and I feel like this is the best place. Many times I have thought about taking the Scarlet & Gold blog in a more personal direction, but I just don’t feel like it’s the place for that. So here we are. Am I an aspiring fashion blogger? LOL. But literally, laugh out loud. I am as basic as basic comes and these days if I get a shower it’s a good day. But I do enjoy sharing my life, my story and what has and hasn’t worked for us in hopes that it might help or encourage someone along the way.

For those of you that don’t know me, I am Megan Smalley. A wife of a basketball coach from small town Alabama. A mom to twin boys after a long, hard battle with infertility. A daughter of a pastor. A sister to the best sibs. A big city girl living in a college town but will forever call Texas home. I am a normal girl with struggles just like you. I need Jesus every day and a community around me to help carry the burdens of this life.

So what should you expect from this little space on the web? I get asked all the time about my favorite products so I have included places for that. I will be continually adding to them as I discover new things that we love. Nothing on these favorites lists are sponsored. We just love it. I also want to continually provide resources that will encourage you as you navigate the seasons of life we have walked through. I hope you visit this space and leave feeling challenged and encouraged.

Lots more to come, but for now I will leave you with this picture of my miracle boys. They are so wonderfully different and pretty darn cute if I say so myself. If you have a second, leave a comment and tell me where you’re from. Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of love,

I have loved following your journey along with you! My husband and I also were thrusted into the world of infertility; however, our miracle has happened, and we are expecting twins due in August. We cannot be more excited and nervous at the same time! I hope to be able to get some more insight on twin mom life but also how to continue to worship my Heavenly Father in every aspect of my life, for I know He is the reason for these two miracles we will soon hold! Thank you for sharing your story and touching so many women who struggle.

Hi there! Congrats on your blog! I’ve been a fan of S&G for several years, and have been following your journey to motherhood for about just as long. So excited to see what you share with us other mommas in this space! (I have 2 little boys too, 4 yr and just turn 1 yr old!)
I’m from NC, but am married to an Army man. We currently live in Baltimore, MD, but we will be moving this summer. No idea where, but it could be Texas!
    Good luck!

Megan, I’ve been a fan of Scarlet and Gold since the early days and have been so inspired by you! I’ve enjoyed following you the past few years. You were always so so nice anytime I ran into you in Auburn. War Eagle and God Bless!
